First Impression from iOS 6 Maps Navigation

So I installed iOS 6 on my iPhone 4s, it was a very smooth process no problems at all. I was looking forward to test the new navigation system as I thought to myself that maybe now once and for all I can get rid of all the different navigation apps that I have on my phone.

I read a few weeks ago that the company who made the navigation app Waze, had a cooperation deal with Apple to supply all the live road information such as: police, accidents, road hazards, speed cameras, etc. to the new apple navigation system and I thought this is perfect.

I also thought that Siri will support this navigation system and you might be able to ask Siri things like: drive me to work, or take me to David, or drive me to that restaurant, etc.

Well, unfortunately, all the above is not working yet. I say, yet, because I’m pretty sure Apple will enhance this system and it will all work great. But for now, in Israel, you can’t ask Siri to drive you to any destination, the navigation system is pretty basic with no gas stations, parking, road information, or decent graphics for the maps themselves.

It could be that this is just in Israel, I am not sure, but in any case it looks like I’ll need to wait a while until I can get rid of the other navigation apps.
